Q1:
I am interested in applying for a job. How can I be sure that I
am not applying to my
own employer?
A1: CareerLookout.com
requires that all employers be identified. We accept no blind ads.
Q2: My
resume went to an e-mail mailbox. How does this work? Who has access
to this?
A2:
CareerLookout provides secure electronic mailboxes for
each unique job positing if the Employer elects to use this level of
service. This allows the employer to assign a responsible staff person
within their own organization to review resumes rather than having resumes
sent to a general e-mail address. An Employer may also elect to make
use of Professional Assistance through an exclusive arrangement with
an executive search firm. Also refer to Question #8 below.
Q3: Will
the Employer contact me?
A3: Any
contact you have from an Employer is at the sole discretion of the
Employer or the Employer’s representative. We strongly encourage
this level of interaction but cannot guarantee it.
Q4:
How do I find all of the jobs by a certain employer?
A4: Go
to: “Detailed
Search” and enter the “Organization
Name”. Hit “Go”.
Q5:
I just found out about a job and I don’t see it listed. Can
I still apply?
A5: If
you have searched by the Employer (Go to: “Detailed Search” and
enter the “Organization Name” then hit “Go”.)
and have not found the ad on CareerLookout’s website, then
the position is no longer active. Position announcements (ads) only
appear while the
Employer is still accepting resumes.
Q6: How
do I find a find jobs in a certain geographic area?
A6: There
are multiple ways to find jobs in geographic location. Go to: “Detailed
Search” and
do one of the following:
Input “City” then hit “Go”.
-or-
Input “County” then hit “Go”.
-or-
Input “Zip Code” and if desired, complete “Miles From” field
then hit “Go”.
-or-
Input “Area Code” then hit “Go”.
Q7:
I have sent my resume to the Employer previously. Can I follow-up
with the same Employer
via CareerLookout.com to check my status?
A7:
CareerLookout does not provide any assistance on recruitment status
or provide updates. Please follow-up with the Employer directly.
If there was an executive search firm involved then you should
contact the recruiting firm directly.
Q8:
How does the Employer’s
use of Professional Assistance effect me as a candidate?
A8: If
the Employer desires to use Professional Assistance (provided through
an exclusive
arrangement with Ralph Andersen & Associates) this information
will be:
- (1) noted in
the original text of the ad
-or, if
added by the Employer later in the process —
- (2) notification
will be sent by CareerLookout to all individuals in advance of
the involvement of the designated third party.
Following this, the Employer will sign a release to allow Ralph
Andersen & Associates
access to the e-mailbox and all resumes received for this specific
